The following are answers to some questions frequently asked by our visitors. These responses should help make some of the less obvious features of this site clearer.

Q. What is Win Free Stuff about?

Win Free Stuff lists the latest Canadian Contests all in the one location.  The site is free to use and is updated daily!

Q.  Are all the contests open to Canadian residents?

Yes, all the contests are open to Canadian residents.  Some contests may be restricted to residents of a certain province, however this information should be reflected in the contest.

Q. I’m not a Canadian resident, can I enter these contests?

You will need to be a Canadian resident to enter the contests.

Q. I’m from Quebec, can I enter?

All contests showing the Quebec flag are open to residents from Quebec.  Contests with a Quebec flag with a red line through it are not open to residents of Quebec.

Q. What is the cookies message about?

Some contests including Featured Contests will most likely not work if cookies are disabled on your machine.  Cookies are used on Win Free Stuff to let the destination site know that you came from Win Free Stuff.

Q. Who are running all these contests?

The contests are run by whoever is listed in the Contest Rules as running them. Note the contests on this site are not run by Win Free Stuff.

Q. Do I need to join to use Win Free Stuff?

No, you can access all contests without joining, however you will need to join to use some tools on the site.

Q. What happens to my details when I join?

Your details will never be released to any third parties unless you expressly permit it.

Q. Why are contests listed more than once on the site?

Contests are displayed in many different ways on this site. If a contest lists multiple prizes that fall into more than one category, the contest may be listed on each relevant Prize pages. Similarly, a contest may be displayed under different Contest Types and/or Province pages if it fits. The purpose of this method is strictly to make it easier for you to locate the contests that may interest you.

Q. How do I Submit A Contest?

Use the Submit A Contest button at the top of every page and complete all the fields.

Q. What is the Contest Counter?

The Contest Counter is the total of all the different contests listed on the site.

Q. What order are the contests displayed?

By default contests are displayed with Featured Contests listed first and then the rest of the contests in that category listed by closing date.  This order can be modified at anytime by using the filter tool.

Q. What are Featured Contests?

Featured Contests are contests run by supporters of the site.  They enable the site to be free.

Q. What are the Entered and Not Interested buttons?

These buttons enable you to keep track of which contests you have Entered or have decided you are Not Interested in.  You will need to join the site to use these features.

Q. What is the Star Rating?

Each contest can be rated by members of Win Free Stuff.  The Star Rating is the average score  of  all these ratings.

Q. What are the filter options on the contest pages?

The filter option on the contest pages enables you to display contests in a number of different ways depending on what you choose.  You can also you it to hide or show the contests you have marked as Entered or Not Interested.

Q. What are the New Contests on the home page?

These are the latest contests to be added to Win Free Stuff.  You can click on the “View All” button to see all the contests added in the last 2 weeks, displayed in detail.

Q. What are the Closing Contests on the home page?

These are all the contests that are about to close on Win Free Stuff.  You can click on the “View All” button to see all the contests that are going to close in the next 2 weeks, displayed in detail.

Q. What are the Popular Contests on the home page?

These the most popular contests on Win Free Stuff based on the number of clicks each contest gets over the last 2 weeks.  You can click on the “View All” button to see the 15 most popular contests over the last 2 weeks, displayed in detail.

Q. What is the section Contest Sources?

This section is supplied as a useful resource to help fans of contests to find Canadian contests.  It provides links to the contest pages of Canadian sites that frequently list multiple contests.

Q. What do I do if I find a mistake?

You can use the Broken Contest button on each contest to let us know if a contest’s link is not working.  Please note that if cookies are disabled on your machine then some contests including Featured Contests will most likely not work.  Cookies are used on Win Free Stuff to let the destination site know that you came from Win Free Stuff.  Allowing\disallowing cookies are contoled by your machine and not the Win Free Stuff.

Q. What is the Send To A Friend Tool?

The Send To A Friend Tool lets you send a contest you like to your friends.

Q. Why would I follow Win Free Stuff on Facebook or Twitter?

This lets you keep track of the latest contests when you are not on Win Free Stuff.

Q. How do I tell if I won?

Since Win Free Stuff doesn’t run the contests, we can’t tell you if you’ve won.  Other than being contacted by the people who ran the contest, you would need to revisit the site where you entered the contest and go to their winners page.
